For the first time in a long time, I am taking a long look at who I am -- and who I want to be. Have you ever done this?
Because thoughts lead to beliefs and feelings, which lead to actions, I have come to realize that I need to get my thoughts in line with scripture. I have much more grace toward others than I do myself. And that leads to way more negativity than anyone needs in their lives.
Have you considered this before? What are your thoughts toward yourself? Are they negative? Positive? Neutral? It matters. Think about what God's word says about our thoughts:
2 Corinthians 10:5 tells us that we are to "demolish arguments and every pretension that sets itself up against the knowledge of God, and we take captive every thought to make it obedient to Christ."
This means controlling what you think about yourself and life - and making sure it's in line with scripture. What does scripture say about the Christ-filled woman?
Well, one thing is offering forgiveness and grace. Do you offer that to yourself? "Forgetting what is behind and straining toward what is ahead, I press on toward the goal to win the prize for which God has called me heavenward in Christ Jesus" (Philippians 3:13-14).
There is so much to add here, and I will in later posts. But for today, consider your thoughts. Stop any negative words against yourself. Just stop it! Thank God for your life, for who He made you to be. Those things that are good, kind, and loving -- speak them toward yourself!
Blessings!
